Last Day of Movember 2011

Movembered Out in Vintage

Can you believe that today is the last day of Movember. To mark this momentous occasion, I have donned some spectacular threads, which compliment my epic ‘stache.

I first want to thank everyone who has already reached into their wallets and made a generous donation to help make sure my Dad and men like him survive prostate cancer. For those who have not already donated, please take a moment to help make sure that everyone survives cancer.

Donations can be made at
Let’s see if we can hit $1000 for the whole team!

Also, please keep my father in your thoughts as he undergoes surgery tomorrow to remove the cancer. If you would like to send him any good wishes, please leave a comment below and I will show them to him while he is still in a drug/pain-reliever induced state.

So here is to the end of a wonderful Movember, a successful surgery and to the start of December.

RSVP to Movember Moustache Trivia Extravaganza

Think you’re smarter and have a better mustache than my father?

Then tomorrow, come support Men’s Health and celebrate the month of Movember with a night of Moustache themed trivia, games, music, food and drinks at O’Sullivan’s Irish Pub & Restaurant in Carlsbad hosted by long-time friend and trivia-host, Tom Schuck!

All donations will support Team Sconis Movember fundraising and help fight cancers that affect men including my father who is currently kicking prostate cancer’s butt! (Pun intended)

Movember 2011

Almost five years ago, my father survived kidney cancer. A few weeks ago he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Well, my Dad is a cancer survivor and I would like to keep it that way!

The month of November will now be called Movember as I join in a global movement to grow a mustache to raise funds for research on cancer that affects men, specifically prostate and testicular. All money raised will be used to continue the work of the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Livestrong and the Movember Foundation.

For thirty days I will grow a mustache and I guarantee you this will not be pretty (I am not known for my facial hair growth). I will look dumb and creepy to some, but I know that I am doing this for a worthy cause. I have set a goal of $500 for cancer research by Movember 30th!

Please join me on my Movember page to make a donation and to check out the daily mustache growth updates. Together we can help eliminate cancer and help my Dad stay a survivor.

Thanks in advance!
